Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of proFILE, a service operated by proFILE Inc. (“proFILE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using proFILE, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What proFILE is

proFILE is a digital record-keeping platform for vehicle ownership and service history. Owners create profiles for their vehicles and upload or log service records. Shops (repair and service businesses) may be granted access by an owner to submit structured, authenticated service records directly to a vehicle’s profile. Buyers may be given a link to view a read-only summary of a vehicle’s history without creating an account.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Owner accounts are free. Shop accounts require the purchase of credits as described in Section 3.

3. Credits and payment

Shop accounts purchase credits to submit service records, at a price of $7.50 USD per credit at the time of writing (subject to change with notice). Credits do not expire. One credit is deducted per service record submitted, whether submitted via document upload or entered manually. Payments are processed by Stripe; proFILE does not store your full payment card details. All credit purchases are non-refundable once completed; see our Refund Policy for details.

4. Uploaded content and verification tiers

You retain ownership of documents and content you upload. By uploading content, you grant proFILE a license to process, store, and display that content (or a processed version of it) as necessary to operate the service, including automated scrubbing of personally identifiable information before any owner-facing or buyer-facing display. Every record on proFILE carries a verification tier: “owner-uploaded” (self-reported, not independently verified) or “shop-verified” (submitted by an authenticated shop account). proFILE does not independently audit the accuracy of any record and makes no warranty as to the correctness or completeness of any vehicle history.

5. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to upload content you do not have the right to share, submit false or fraudulent service records, misuse shop credit access, attempt to circumvent ownership verification, or use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

6. Ownership transfer and data

When a vehicle changes hands on proFILE, the vehicle’s service history carries forward to the incoming owner. Because personal information is scrubbed from records at the time of upload, prior owners’ personal information is not retained in the accessible record after a transfer.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to proFILE if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Unused shop credits are handled per our Refund Policy.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

proFILE is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, proFILE Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on any vehicle history record.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of proFILE after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
